However, when talking further, one of the No. 1’s former teammates expresses doubt that they could kill the hostage. There were three of them, he says, and they clearly aren’t seasoned forest soldiers based on their performance. They tell No. 1 that his sister has been rescued and will be waiting for him in a black van when he returns to the surface. With this, No. 2 explains that the only reason they saved his sister was because they thought Mad Dog was hiding out there.
