According to a recent news release, the Idaho State Board of Education will hold a special Board meeting on Friday starting at 7:30 a.m.

The Board will go into executive session to "communicate with legal counsel for the public agency to discuss the legal ramifications of and legal options for pending litigation, or controversies not yet being litigated but imminently likely to be litigated," the release said.

After the executive session, the Board will convene in an open session as the Regents of the University of Idaho to address a complaint brought by the Office of the Attorney General.

The complaint alleges an Open Meeting law violation in May related to the Regents' consideration of the University of Idaho's request for approval to form a nonprofit entity to acquire the assets of the University of Phoenix.

The meeting will start at the Board's downtown Boise office and will be carried out via livestream on the Board's YouTube channel.

The meeting agenda is posted on the State Board of Education website.
