The Colorado Buffaloes head coach, Deion Sanders, made a bold claim after appearing on the Folsom Frenzy Podcast. He broke the silence on his retirement plans.
Coach Prime said that he does not want to take up any new coaching jobs apart from the Buffaloes. He wants to stay associated with the Buffaloes and also wishes to have a long coaching career with the team. He does want to take retirement as a Buffaloes coach.
I love Boulder, Colorado and Colorado. I’m not chasing finances. I’m not chasing the bag. I’m not chasing notoriety. I’m not chasing hype. I love what I do and I do what I love, and I love Boulder, Colorado. I don’t plan on being anywhere else in my coaching career.Speaking to the host of the podcast, Coach Prime said
It is my desire to one day retire, and just walk off… not walk off — I want to ride off on a white horse with a black hat in the sunset in Boulder, Colorado. Winning a championship. Championships. Plural. That’s what I want to do.He further added
Sanders gave a phenomenal start to the Buffaloes. He ensured three wins in three matches for them. When things were looking very positive and fans hoped for something big in the coming rounds, the Buffaloes lost their rhythm.
They ended up winning just one out of their nine games and finished their season with a 4-8 record.
Despite failing to give the team a winning start, Sanders provided the needed momentum for the team. He had the guts to change all 53 players in the squad after the Buffaloes won only one out of their 12 games last season. Sanders also ensured the best records for the Buffaloes in the past few years.
Coaching speculations triggered after Sanders met Jerry Jones
Ahead of the game against the Seattle Seahawks, Deion Sanders was spotted with the Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones. He along with his son Shedeur Sanders met Jerry Jones. They both were seen having enjoyable chats.
The sudden meeting raised speculation that Sanders could join the Cowboys next season. Coach Mike McCarthy has suffered multiple criticisms for not providing at the ‘right moment.’ Hence, it came to light that Coach Prime might join the Cowboys.
However, with the recent podcast, the possibilities of Sanders joining some other teams have come to an end.
