BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Boise continues improving and adding new features to its park system as Molenaar Park opens a new skate park in Southwest Boise.
The skatepark, designed by Grindline Skateparks, is located inside Molenaar Park and features a variety of rails, ledges, and even a mini bowl.
"Any time we can add a state-of-the-art feature to a park is exciting, and this project is truly a standout addition to what is now one of Boise's premiere parks," said Mayor Lauren McLean. "Thank you to the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation for donating the money to build this incredible skate park and to the Boise Skateboard Association for continuing to advocate for new recreational opportunities in all corners of our city."
Grindline also designed the Rhodes Skate Park in downtown Boise which has hosted various special events, including the Road to X Games qualifiers from 2017 to 2019.
Molenaar Skate Park was built thanks to a generous $1 million donation from the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation.
