BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A 24-year-old Boise man has been sentenced to life in prison after hitting and killing a woman with his car.
Marion Nikichimus pled guilty in November 2023, to second-degree murder after he hit and killed 37-year-old Elizabeth Sorg.
In June of last year, Nikichimus was driving around intoxicated and acting "bizarre and confrontational," according to a statement from the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's office.
Nikichimus was driving drunk through an apartment complex when residents began to notice and confronted him. After residents approached Nikichimus he got back into his vehicle and drove away before intentionally turning around and running over a man. The victim was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries. Nikichimus then turned his vehicle around again and ran into Sorg, killing her.
Judge Hippler sentenced Nikichimus to 20 years fixed with life indeterminate. At the sentencing Judge Hippler said he "Has shown that the community is not safe with him in it at this time and for a long time," and that he "Needs to be supervised indefinitely."
