Anna Popplewell is an English actress. She is known for her roles in the cinematic The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and its sequels, as well as in the films Mansfield Park (1999), The Little Vampire (2000), Me Without You, Thunderpants, Girl with a Pearl Earring, and Payback Season, and on the series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Reign.
She is the daughter of Debra Lomas, a dermatologist, and Sir Andrew John Popplewell, PC, who has been High Court Judge, Queen’s Bench Division, from 3 October, 2011 to 21 October, 2019, and Lord Justice of Appeal, since 21 October, 2019. Her siblings are actors Lulu Popplewell and Freddie Popplewell. Her uncle is cricketer Nigel Popplewell. Anna is married to Sam Caird.
Anna’s paternal grandfather is Oliver Popplewell (Oliver Bury Popplewell, the son of Frank Popplewell and Nina Marks). Oliver was born in Uxbridge, Middlesex, and is a prominent judge and cricket player, who chaired the inquiry into the Bradford City stadium fire. Frank was the son of Francis Popplewell and Lucy Bury.
Anna’s paternal grandmother was named Catharine Margaret Storey (the daughter of parents surnamed Storey and Richardson). Catharine was born in Manchester South, Lancashire.
